This week I met guys from EDGE Design, www.edge-design.com. EDGE Design is a San Francisco based company with Scandinavian roots that designs mobile cases that look to, “meld form and function in fresh, innovative ways”. Now I have seen a lot of iPhone cases over the years, but I have to say that EDGE Design makes what I consider the Ferrari of cases.

They manufacture in America utilizing digital fabrication techniques with high-quality materials and the deft hands of skilled craftsmen. Every case has a unique serial number engraved inside each case, verifying its origin and streamlining the process of product registration, which extends the owner’s warranty by an additional year. EDGE currently offers cases for the iPhone 4,4S, and iPad 2 and will soon introduce models for Android smartphones and tablets.

I don’t own an iPhone, but I have had a chance to get a hands-on feel for the Aktiv aluminum case that they make. This is by far the best iPhone I have seen to date. It has a smooth feel, sleek design, and is sturdy as hell. Co-founder and CEO Jasper Wind showed me a video of him slowly driving his car over the case with an iPhone in it and it held strong without any damage (not that I recommend testing this). I really can’t wait until they release versions for Android devices.

Igadgetgeek gave a nice video review of the case and its features.
