For your own protection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.perivision.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/springboard-safemode.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-767\" title=\"springboard-safemode\" src=\"https:\/\/www.perivision.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/springboard-safemode-200x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.perivision.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/springboard-safemode-200x300.png 200w, https:\/\/www.perivision.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/springboard-safemode.png 320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a>I had no idea there was a mobile substrate safe mode.\u00a0 Well there you go.\u00a0 The funny thing is; I got 2 comments today asking about SBSetting perhaps causing the problem.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve been using SBS for quite a while, my favorite app, and never an issue.\u00a0 Then tonight, I got bumped to safe mode.\u00a0 Odd.\u00a0 The only thing I did different was to create a folder using categories to demonstrate that to a friend ( I have not got around to creating new folders since the 2.2 upgrade).<\/p>\n<p>So whats going on here?\u00a0 I do not have winter board installed yet, in fact, the only jailbreak apps I have running is SBS, Cycoder and categories.\u00a0 All three were installed a few days ago with no problems.<\/p>\n<p>I did some searching on the interwebs and it seems like this is happening to others, but there does not seem to be a common app.\u00a0 My guess?\u00a0 Cydia.\u00a0 I read <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iphonefanatics.com\/forums\/showthread.php?t=1323\" target=\"_blank\">this on a thread<\/a>.. &#8216;its part of the new mobilesubstrate that comes with cydia&#8217;.\u00a0 Seems to be the only thing that makes sense.<\/p>\n<p>I just found this..<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.appleiphoneschool.com\/2008\/09\/18\/safe-mode\/\" target=\"_blank\">ab_rick <em>reply on September 18, 2008<\/em>:<\/a><\/p>\n<p>it is a \u2018mobile substrate\u2019 safe mode not an iPhone safe mode as seems to be the impression below. Mobile Substrate is written by Saurik. I assume this is put in place to avoid a continual crash of the springboard by some dodgy theme or plugin. This way you can dissable the last theme item or any mobile substrate plugin (eg 5 icon dock or new safari file access) that you instsalled and stop your phone crashing. Saurik is protecting you all. The man is a living legend!
