IPMS (Institute for Photonic Microsystems) is one of fifty six institutes in Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, that specializes\u00a0in \u00a0research, development and fabrication of <a title=\"What is Photonics?\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Photonics\">photonics<\/a> microsystems including semiconductor and microsystem processes as well as integrated actuators and sensor technologies.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5034\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.perivision.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/eyescanner.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5034\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-5034\" src=\"https:\/\/www.perivision.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/eyescanner-150x128.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"128\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-5034\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">OLED Microdisplay based Eyetracking HMD<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Fraunhofer IPMS had a<a title=\"Press Release\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ipms.fraunhofer.de\/en\/news\/press\/2011-03-30.html\"> recent press release<\/a> sharing their work on an OLED microdisplay based Eyetracking head mounted display (HMD). \u00a0This device enables the user to overlay the view of the real world with digital content (traditional AR) and interact with the applications using only their gaze, hands free.<\/p>\n<p>Not the coolest looking AR glasses I think everyone wants to see, but a great start. It is very impressive work I look forward to learning more about.
