\"\"<\/a>The news broke out at where 2.0<\/a> that if you pull a .db file from your iphone, it has a record of everywhere you have been in the past year.\u00a0 WOW.\u00a0 Worse, this file in NOT encrypted. So the question is; why are they collecting this in the first place?\u00a0 Perhaps the government wants it? A way to improve accuracy of the GPS? A way to report back to ATT where dead zones are?\u00a0 Apple is not talking of course, and given that I do not go anywhere interesting, I’m not that concerned that its being collected.\u00a0 What REALLY concerns me is that the file is just sitting there!\u00a0 Talk about insecure!\u00a0 Comeon?\u00a0 How hard would it be to simply encrypt this file?<\/p>\n

“Apple has made it possible for almost anybody \u2013 a jealous spouse, a private detective \u2013 with access to your phone or computer to get detailed information about where you’ve been,” said Pete Warden, one of the researchers.<\/p>\n
