First off, any Trojan is a bad Trojan. However, there is something off about this story.\u00a0 I’m not saying its wrong or we should ignore this story, but there were a few things that kinda of bothered me.<\/p>\n
First off, who in world would call a trojan file ‘\u201cTrojan-SMS.AndroidOS.FakePlayer.a\u201d’ ???\u00a0 I mean really.\u00a0 That like robbing a bank and wearing a name tag.\u00a0 Next, you cannot get this on the app store, you have to go to a site, and if you install it the normal way you get all kinds of pop up warning asking you to confirm you want this app to perform various function.\u00a0 Hmmm.. So since trojans that send SMS messages to expensive services have been around for awhile, I’m not sure the story should be as big as it seems to be.\u00a0 But thats just me.<\/p>\n
I think this is a reminder to use common sense.\u00a0 Same common sense you need when installing anything on your PC, or Mac, or iphone (jailbreak) or Android or anything else really.\u00a0 Course, its things like this that make the concept of a closed system as offered by Apple iOS system that makes sense when your not sure common sense is in play, like kids or those just not familiar with the pitfalls of the interwebs.<\/p>\n
