I’m sure most of you have already heard the news of the lost next gen iphone 4.0.\u00a0 Well Gizmodo <\/a>got their hands on it, took it apart and have posted up what goodness we can expect from the new iphone<\/p>\n

There are some things that I had thought back in March (last year) we might see on the new iphone<\/a>. Well, here are a year later and low and behold, we are getting lots of what we hoped for.\u00a0 Now the interesting thing is HOW we know this. Seems someone given the task to take the new phone out into the wild and test LOST IT in a bar!\u00a0 Hmm.. I wonder if that person is working for Apple anymore?\u00a0 But I digress..<\/p>\n

This ‘found’ phone was disguised to look like a normal 3G with rounded case.\u00a0 However, this was a special case with extra holes and a course a bit larger to hid the fact that the iphone4 does not have rounded edges. When it was found, it was still active so it has 4.0 running on it, but Apple killed the phone before they had enough time to see what was really different.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The big changes in my opinion is the camera on the front.\u00a0 Which you KNOW means we will have video conference and we also know the first feature they hype when the first commercial comes out. Next is FLASH… No, the THAT flash, but flash for the camera.\u00a0 Finally.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 From what Gizmoto says, the screen is of MUCH higher resolution.\u00a0 Can we say HD’ish support? Although, I always thought the resolution was good enough.\u00a0 I will be excited to see this new high def version. Finally, a much larger batter.\u00a0 16% larger?\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 Hmm.. perhaps to power a dual core CPU?<\/p>\n

What’s new<\/h2>\n

\u2022 Front-facing video chat camera
\n\u2022 Improved regular back-camera (the lens is quite noticeably larger than the iPhone 3GS)
\n\u2022 Camera flash
\n\u2022 Micro-SIM instead of standard SIM (like the iPad)
\n\u2022 Improved display. It’s unclear if it’s the 960×640 display thrown around before\u2014it certainly looks like it, with the “Connect to iTunes” screen displaying much higher resolution than on a 3GS.
\n\u2022 What looks to be a secondary mic for noise cancellation, at the top, next to the headphone jack
\n\u2022 Split buttons for volume
\n\u2022 Power, mute, and volume buttons are all metallic<\/p>\n

What’s changed<\/h2>\n

\u2022 The back is entirely flat, made of either glass (more likely) or ceramic or shiny plastic in order for the cell signal to poke through. Tapping on the back makes a more hollow and higher pitched sound compared to tapping on the glass on the front\/screen, but that could just be the orientation of components inside making for a different sound
\n\u2022 An aluminum border going completely around the outside
\n\u2022 Slightly smaller screen than the 3GS (but seemingly higher resolution)
\n\u2022 Everything is more squared off
\n\u2022 3 grams heavier
\n\u2022 16% Larger battery
\n\u2022 Internals components are shrunken, miniaturized and reduced to make room for the larger battery<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
