{"id":2743,"date":"2010-03-15T20:15:29","date_gmt":"2010-03-16T04:15:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.perivision.net\/wordpress\/?p=2743"},"modified":"2010-03-15T20:16:13","modified_gmt":"2010-03-16T04:16:13","slug":"need-to-replace-that-battery-in-you-ipad-100","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.perivision.net\/wordpress\/2010\/03\/need-to-replace-that-battery-in-you-ipad-100\/","title":{"rendered":"Need to replace that battery in your iPad? $100"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On the surface, that&#8217;s not too bad, but there are a few issues I have with it..<\/p>\n<p>First off, batteries can lose their life span pretty quickly if you are not careful or if you are unlucky and get one that dies a quick death in a few months.\u00a0 Heat, and rapid charging and discharging can kill your battery life. There are best practices to keep you battery living as long as possible:<a href=\"https:\/\/www.perivision.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/iPad.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2592\" title=\"iPad\" src=\"https:\/\/www.perivision.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/iPad-300x170.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"170\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.perivision.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/iPad-300x170.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.perivision.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/iPad-195x110.jpg 195w, https:\/\/www.perivision.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/iPad.jpg 540w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keep it cool!!<\/li>\n<li>Keep it fully topped off, or when you do run it on battery for any extended period, run it down. NOT all the way, but close.\u00a0 And then fully charge it again<\/li>\n<li>Keep it away from moisture.<\/li>\n<li>And assuming you can adjust the brightness, keep it only as bright as you need it.\u00a0 Again, keep drain on the battery to a minimum.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Same applies if you jailbreak, keep an eye on how much power you draw.\u00a0 If you are going to push this bit of hardware, keep it plugged in.<\/p>\n<p>However, these battery care things are common place right?\u00a0 Here is my issue.\u00a0 You have to send the iPad and they replace it!\u00a0 Not a big deal if you do have to replace it?\u00a0 What if it was a gift?\u00a0 Did you get it engraved? Somebody sign it?\u00a0 And when you get the new one, does ALL you data get transferred? If not can we depend on iTunes keeping everything?\u00a0 And how long do you have to go without the iPad while its shipped, replaced and returned?\u00a0 You may want to budget shipping in.<\/p>\n<p>There is only a small population that may have these worries, but still, it just bugs me that they could not simply make it replaceable!\u00a0 Heck, I would bet people would buy extra batteries to extent the iPads life if they are heavy users.<\/p>\n<p>Well, only a few more week to go before we get better answers on this.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On the surface, that&#8217;s not too bad, but there are a few issues I have with it..
