WidePhotoViewer is the most complete photo-viewing app for
the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad, with these key features:

— Accesses Flickr, Facebook, SmugMug, and Photo Library
— the only app that can do all four.
— Download albums for offline viewing.
— Choice of thumbnail, grid, full-screen, or slideshow
views.
— Display of titles, captions, camera (EXIF) data, and
comments.
— Direct editing of titles and captions.
— Support for the iPhone/iPod camera.
— Upload directly to Flickr, Facebook, or SmugMug.
— Flickr exploration (interestingness, recent from
everyone, Getty, searches, etc.).

Most of what WidePhotoViewer can do is free. An in-app
upgrade unlocks the premium features, such as uploading,
downloading, and title/caption editing.

Photo editing with Photoshop on the iPhone https://www.perivision.net/wordpress/2009/10/photo-editing-with-photoshop-on-the-iphone/ https://www.perivision.net/wordpress/2009/10/photo-editing-with-photoshop-on-the-iphone/#respond Fri, 09 Oct 2009 23:17:42 +0000 http://www.perivision.net/wordpress/?p=2120 Read More]]> This just came out today.  Its pretty fun.  You can edit a photo, crop, apply a filter, etc..  Pretty cool really. You can do the basics that you would expect: cropping, changing exposure, convert to black and white, change contrast.  There are some basic filters too; sketching, blurring, image border, I like the rainbow filter, and the pop filter. Best, you can rotate too as well as crop.  Did I say cropping twice? I did because that is pretty important to me. 🙂

You can also upload your images to photoshop.com (2 gig limit) and then share / email them out from there.

Now what will be interesting is the idea that they ‘could’ add more filters if they wanted. Right now the UI does not seem to support that, but that would be an easy fix.  Just allow the top panel to slide to expose more filters.  Next thing I would LOVE to see?  The ability to add text over the image.

Its a free app and very easy to get.  Just go to photoshop.com on your iphone and there is button waiting for you.

.. and now;  to the images!

How to take better photos on the iphone with clearCam https://www.perivision.net/wordpress/2009/02/how-to-take-better-photos-on-the-iphone-with-clearcam/ https://www.perivision.net/wordpress/2009/02/how-to-take-better-photos-on-the-iphone-with-clearcam/#comments Mon, 09 Feb 2009 22:18:53 +0000 http://www.perivision.net/wordpress/?p=1114 Read More]]> Normally I do not write about an app more then once, typically I would just update the original post, ( I know, bad practice ), however in this case, I wanted to write about this again because of how impressed I am with this little app.

ClearCam, the original post here, is a program that will enhance and enlarge the image taken with your iphone from 2meg to 4 meg as well as help sharpen the image.  When I first took my test photos, I was impressed, however, the image I took of my roll-up desk did not seem fair since one came out brighter then the other.  So yesterday I retook it just to see.. and the improvement were even more impressive the second time around.  Have a look at these close ups.

Enhanced Shot

Crazy right?  And this is not two separate pics where my hand was more steady the second time, this is the original image taken by ClearCam and then the enhancement. Anytime I take a picture of anything still (or even semi still) I will only use this software.  Below are the full images. Even without zooming in, you can see a marked improvement.

Remember, this is jailbreak only at this time. If others have really good examples of using this app (as well as using the clarifi maco lens) send them in and I’ll post them up.

Improved iphone photos with clearcam.. and yea, it works https://www.perivision.net/wordpress/2009/02/improved-iphone-photos-with-clearcam-and-yea-it-works/ https://www.perivision.net/wordpress/2009/02/improved-iphone-photos-with-clearcam-and-yea-it-works/#comments Fri, 06 Feb 2009 05:08:05 +0000 http://www.perivision.net/wordpress/?p=1095 Read More]]> We all know that the camera on the iphone is about as poor as it gets.  Basically its the same thing I had in my treo600/650. I’ve learn to accept this and move on with life.  Well, seems like someone was not willing to take this laying down and did something about it. In comes ClearCam.  I just loaded it last night off Cydia and then did a few test shots today.  Its not going to reinvent photography on the iphone, but it does make a difference.  The way it seems to work is to take 6 shots in rapid succession and then using tiling and comparative techniques, to sharpen and enlarge the image.  So instead of a 2M image, you get a 4M image.  The difference is not massive, but you can tell.  Have a look at these two images zoomed in.

The difference may not look all that great, but if you click on each image and view them full size, you can see it’s sharper and has less noise.

Now have a look at these two..

In this case, the image actually ‘seems’ to be brighter despite being taken only 5 min apart.  Take a careful look at the batteries to the right.  The difference in sharpness is most acute here.  I may reshoot this because there is not reason I can figure for it to be brighter.  We’ll see if I get around to it.

The app is only for jailbroken phones at the moment, and even then you only get a 15 day trial, but the cost is around $10 if I remember correctly,  so a pretty good deal I would say.  Go get it… now..
