This was over a year ago, so I do not remember exactly what happened, however, I do remember trying it a few times trying to understand what was wrong, AND on some holes it DID work. So although its quite possible its user error, it could more likely be the fact they made changes to the golf course recently (as I pointed out) and thus the app got confused. I also had my brother down the app and try it and it did not fully work for him either. But again, this was when the app first came out, so odds are they have the bugs worked out.

You will see that all the holes are infact in order on the course. If all the holes ARE on the correct course, and in the correct order, as it fully appears they are, then, other than a device or user error, GolfTraxx would NOT report 20,000+ yards. There is not anywhere near 20,000 yards distance between ANY two holes on the course. Faulty usage perhaps more likely…

Tell you what. first take a look at the first hole (Click ViewHole) in the link below. Let us know if you do not think that is the first green.

If it is the first green, as we believe, then click on the additional View Holes. Let us know if you see one that is not correct.

Just complaining? Perhaps you should re-read the end of the post. There is a lot of promise here if they can keep the data straight, and I did not take notes as to which holes worked and which did not since I was trying it as an experiment.

since golftraxx is still adding these courses for free…maybe you ought to just let them know when you find a course with problems…instead of just complaining…sounds like you enjoy the product on courses once they are set up…..just a thought…

As far as I know, it will not unless you jailbreak the ipod and then find a way to get the application to use a 3rd party GPS system. The ipod does not come with GPS but instead using tower distance est. Not very good and useless for golf. You can keep your eyes open on the xGPS project and GOMITE's locoGPS efforts. I've written about xGPS on this blog, so search for that word.
